As a daughter of Indian immigrants, I am acutely aware of the beauty and challenges that come with being an immigrant or a child of immigrant in the United States. I understand the reality of living in-between identities and cultures and the search for belonging. I also realize that many Black, Indigenous, and People of Color have faced rejection, oppression, violence, and hatred due to their skin color, which can have profound effects on one's mental health. I also know the deep resiliency and unique beauty that comes from our ancestors and our communities as well as the generational trauma as well as the generational resilience passed on by our ancestors. I honor that systemic oppression cannot be solved by individual therapy and hope that our work together can help repair some of the profound effects of oppression on our souls, bodies, and minds.
